Thank you for your interest in Mission Search & Rescue

We are not recruiting at this time.

Our members are all volunteer professionals. We are highly trained in various search and rescue functions making us available at any time to be called upon when our task agencies ask for help. Each member of the team spends a tremendous amount of time training and developing their skills in order for the entire team to fulfill every mission set before us.

Join Us

If you are thinking about volunteering with us - thank you! Please keep in mind a few items we emphasize to anyone looking to join our team.

  1. Becoming a SAR member requires an incredible amount of time and training, spanning weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Our weekday training schedule is outside the hours of 9-5, however, calls can and do happen at any time. Consider whether your place of work and family is okay with this serious time commitment.

  2. A lof of our resources go into training our MITs (Members In Training) to get them to full-time status. Because of this, we require a minimum of three years of commitment to the team.

  3. Search and Rescue is a physically demanding job, requiring a high level of fitness. You will likely be required to carry subjects and critical-life saving equipment over long distances, in poor weather, and over uneven terrain.

  4. Many of our calls to aid require us to enter into the backcountry. A good understanding of local geography and experience in the wilderness is advantageous to both your safety and the team’s safety. It is important to have the appropriate clothing and gear as you may be out for long periods of time.

  5. It is critically important that members live within a 30 minute radius of our base to ensure an expeditious call-out time. In order to stay connected to the team, we require members to have a valid drivers license and working cell phone.

  6. We require anyone looking to join Mission SAR to have at least a basic level of first aid.

Joining MSAR is a commitment. It is also a lifestyle. Being ready to respond at any time, day and night, and manage difficult and unpredictable situations, is part of the task.

If you think you have what it takes, we want to hear from you. Although we are not currently recruiting, a note will be made of your inquiry to join MSAR and you will be contacted during our next recruitment process.

Fill out the form below and we will be in touch.
